About Mr. Coover:
Rob  Coover was born and raised in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.  As a youth, he spent much of his free time drawing before,  in high school, his ears awoke and turned him towards music.
Impressed by Bob Dylan and American roots musicians like Robert Johnson and Woody Guthrie, he took up guitar and harmonica with a commitment that bordered on pathological obsession.
Rob played in coffeehouses (beginning with the home-town  favorite Dani & Johnny's in Clinton), performing folk,  blues and original material. Later, in college, he and two  friends, Tom Brannon and Ian Christie, formed the band The Ragged Rogues.
The band was a merger of traditional folk-blues playing with rock and jazz elements; with them, Rob explored new avenues  and textures for his songs. The band recorded and released an album of original material, Pulling Down the Sky,  on the independent label Cedar Grove Records in 1999.
Meanwhile, the group took its roots-rock act to many                      New Jersey bars, clubs, and coffeehouses. By this time, Rob  had taken up banjo and mandolin, and employed these instruments  with the group, often adding a bluegrass flavor.
Today, Rob performs shows both solo and with various all-stars such as Tal Patton and David Nacin. The stylistic ground covered includes  everything from Delta blues to classic country to jazz fusion,  performed with a unique brand of showmanship.
Covers are played of songs by Robert Johnson, Bob Dylan,  Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Hank Williams, Muddy Waters, Josh      White, and Jimmie Rodgers, among others. Of course, these  are mixed in with Rob's original material.
Rob is currently in the process of conquering the New York City music scene. Very soon he will be an international superstar.
